Bobby Cervantez

Bobby Cervantez is a second-generation body and paint man. Born in Plainview, Texas and raised in Austin, Texas.
In his youth he spent summers and after school working at his uncle’s body shop. His uncles always told him if he wanted to be good at what he did that he should learn to be a combination guy. This meant learning how to do both body and paint. But, Bobby was not satisfied with a single skill. He went further, becoming skilled and certified at pulling frames, reading dimensions, welding and fabrication.
At the age of 18 he ventured out on his own and moved to a town near Fort Knox, Kentucky. While he was there worked for a custom shop that specialized in restoring and customizing classic cars. Their clients were Colonels and Car enthusiasts from all walks of life. His desire to learn this facet of the business was now kindled. After a year and a half he moved back to Austin and opened up Bob's Classic Cars.
The 80's brought in the low riders and mini-trucks with the body modification kits and paint jobs that shouted color, creative striping and bold effects. It was all about the shine and deepness of color. Websites and the tech age was not a household word yet. Bobby's client base was by word of mouth and the news traveled fast among car clubs of that time.
As that wave moved on, so did Bobby. His business took on the insurance claims for the common fender benders. But, laying down his paint gun of artistic ability was not easily done. He has taken special projects over the years.
His motto for doing the job right and a peeve for perfection is a common thread in all the work he has done throughout the years. Custom Creations by Bobby is based out of Bastrop, Texas where Bobby and his wife, Amy of 20 years now reside along with their 3 sons.
